PROVIDENCE, RI, 8 may 2012 /24-7PressRelease / -the city of Providence is seriously considering its options following a budget deficit of $ 20 million. As many municipalities across the country, Providence is difficult in these difficult moments of the financial. The Mayor and the city managers are seeking bankruptcy as a last resort to restore the financial health of the city.

Providence has explored several measures to bridge the gap in the budget, even at this stage, it is not entirely resolved the problem. The city sought voluntary concessions of retired city pension plan holders to help avoid bankruptcy. In addition, the city sent an application at Brown University, and other major companies without profit, to make voluntary payments similar rather than pay their taxes to help. It is not if these and other measures will be enough to help the town before it runs more money.

There is a distinct parallel between the potential insolvency of Providence and persons passing through the same financial difficulties. As the city can result in long term for bankruptcy file, private individuals and companies are faced with the reality of not being able to pay their bills. It may be necessary for an individual or a company to file for bankruptcy protection, it is made with the understanding that one can have a moment then difficult receipt of credit, may lose certain property or risk other financial complications. If Providence bankruptcies, it will have a similar experience, but on a larger scale.

If Providence filed bankruptcy Chapter 9, it will have a serious impact on the city and its inhabitants. Essential services including police and firefighters will continue if the bankruptcy of city files, but other services can be determined less essential and no longer give to residents. There is also concern bankruptcy, real estate decline, leading to the difficulty of the city for future funding and the perception in the National Assembly of the city. As an individual filing bankruptcy, the city would do so with the intention to create a plan to resolve the most serious financial responsibilities and reorganize to resolve the debt stock.

The Mayor and other city officials still held hope that a resolution to avoid such an undesirable option is available, but some close to the Town Hall are not very optimistic. The Mayor recently fired a political adviser for suggesting that bankruptcy was inevitable. There is currently a discussion of each available option, but now that it is perhaps too early to say what will happen to the city and its inhabitants.
